I have to admit it was never my strong point! Working in science needs lots of different skills and there are definitely jobs out there even for those that hate maths. In my job one of the most important things is being able to communicate well for example
Not really. When i did my GCSEs i needed to get a B in maths so that I could do Biology at A level, but i didnt get a B the first time i did my maths exam at GCSE I actually got a D. In fact it took me 4 or 5 resists and tutoring until i got a B in my GCSE Maths exam. I wish i had taken maths at A level tho as it would really have helped me at university and now. The next thing I am going to try and learn is some advanced statistics and modelling and maths will be important there.
Nooooooo definitely not, I hated maths. I never really saw the point in it, going through equations to give an answer that didn’t actually change anything. Don’t get me wrong it’s very important in many many aspects of life, and I even still have to suffer it nowadays in my research (URGH), but it’s definitely not a subject I’ve ever enjoyed!
I was ok, set 2/8 then 3/10 for GCSE. Unfortunately I didnt revise for my final exams and only came out with a C. I enjoyed Maths and my teacher wanted be to do A level but I found it too fast. I did a lot of discrete maths and set theory as part of my degrees, I have an undergraduate module in statistics from the OU.
