• Question: were you the best at science in your class when you were at school?

      No, but I was in the top set for my half of the year group. I liked almost all subjects at school, I have always been very curious.

      Nope! I was in set 2 (out of 4) so I was just in the upper half of the year. And I wasn’t the best at science in that class either. I was probably average actually. I think my GCSE results put me in the middle of the cleverness scale.
      In fact of the people in my school I only know 1 other who has gone on to be a scientist! He is a chemist and he was one of the smartest people at my school. So it goes to show that you can be really smart at school or be average like me and still become a scientist if you want.
