Only England 🙁 I’m only 24 tho so there’s still time for me to go and work in another country. I really want to go and work in France and Germany they have really interesting and cool science centres like the European Molecular Biology Lab in Heidelberg and the Pasteur Institute in Paris. Hopefully Brexit doesn’t make that much harder for me though…

I’m not very good at being in one country for too long. I went to school in Germany for my GCSEs, I worked in a school in Brazil in sixth form, but my first taste of working in science was in Australia! I worked in a special research hospital for people with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.

I’d love to work in as many countries as I can. Often scientists have to move to wherever there’s the best job for their work which is both great and annoying. I like the sound of living in Canada for a while, maybe Singapore? I’m not great at languages so somewhere they speak English is a must!

Mostly in England, but certainly in terms of going to conferences and scientific meetings I’ve had some great chances to travel (Colorado in the USA and Vienna in Austria being two faves).

This year I have some great trips lined up for work though, including going to catch some sea snakes in Okinawa, doing some protein sequencing in Spain and going to a conference in Germany.

The opportunities to travel are definitely a plus for working in Science!

None so far, but I hope to work overseas at some point. I have however traveled to Europe and Canada to attend conferences as part of my work.
