      So when it’s extracted and we want to measure the volume it’s usually in microlitres (some snakes there’s only a few drops!). For how toxic the venom is we would usually go off an LD50 reading which is the minimum dose needed to kill at least 50% of a group of test animals, there is a list online somewhere of all of these that have been done, I think the Inland Taipan from Australia is still number 1.
