• Question: What would happened if Humans didn't have thumbs?

      That’s an interesting question! I guess we’d still be able to grip things, but our dexterity would be very much reduced, so I guess doing really fiddly things or even simple things like eating with one hand we either wouldn’t be able to do or we would have to learn another way of doing them. You could always tape your thumb to the side of your hand and try doing everyday things, see just how much they help!

      If we didn’t have thumbs it would be harder to do things for sure! But we would adapt quite quickly and then we would make things that suited hands without thumbs so things would probably be as easy as they are now. Except for climbing, climbing and hanging onto things would be harder as thumbs help you grasp!
