      According to the Terminator movies it should already have happened in 1997, so we’re fine!

      I also thought it would be 1997! But i reckon we’re looking at something like 2120. At the current rate of technological advancement If we havent cracked artificial intelligence in 100 years then chances are we wont do it in the next 300 years i reckon. So you might die before it happens im afraid

      I am not convinced that they ever will, however, I do think that they will become more useful and become another useful tool like a computer or fridge. Humans are funny in that we like some assistance to a point, but not too much. Lots of HCI (human computer interaction) work to be done.

      A great, fairly easy to read book on this subject is Murray Shanahan’s The Technological Singularity.
