Straight to the point, I like it!

By non-venomous snakes yes, especially during egg-laying season. Once eggs have been laid we need to remove them and put them in the incubator so they’re kept nice and warm, that way can make sure that all of them are in the best conditions to develop correctly. Understandably the mother is very protective, and sometimes this involves some nipped fingers/hands.

For the venomous snakes, I haven’t (touch wood). We actually have a very set system in how we work with them, which is designed to minimize risk as much as we can. There is still always *some* risk because they are wild animals and can be very unpredictable, but so far it has worked really well. It’s a lot less exciting than what you would see on TV shows (e.g. we don’t grab snakes by the tail and jump around at all), but it keeps both us and the snakes safe, which are the main things.
