I guess my only goal is to become an independent researcher and have my own research lab and students. So i guess i want to achieve that by being a scientist. I dont really have a scientific dream, like i dont want to be the person that cures cancer as that doesnt interest me. What I am interested in is learning how cancer works and doing experiments to identify the mechanisms that make cells go wrong. So in that sense what i want to achieve is to be able to say that I have been able to advance our understanding of how cancer works, so any way in which i can do that would make me happy whether thats through being able to say protein A makes cancer bad because of x y z or by making a drug that beats cancer i’m not fussed, just being able to say we have advanced knowledge is what i want to achieve!
