Learning new things! I love it when you read something that you didn’t know before and suddenly you have a better understanding of what you are doing.
Also when you do an experiment and it works! Man that feels so good. For me, doing an experiment and it working is better than chocolate!

A big part of my work is PPI (patient and public involvement) so I work quite closely with my participants – most are sixth formers. I’ve met nearly every one at least once and some of them I see once a half term. It’s great to see how they are doing with the research and hear their ideas. My favourite part is seeing them get better at CPR and how their confidence grows.

I got to travel to New York a couple of weeks ago! But mostly I really enjoy talking to different people who are all really passionate about what they do, and bringing this together to make a real difference to a project

When you discover something new that no one has found before (providing the experiment actually works first!), it’s an awesome feeling and makes all the hard work completely worth it.
