I guess when i say i didnt want a job what i mean is i didnt know what job i wanted, i just knew i wasnt ready for a job. But then i found an area of science I really really like and that was where i went to get a job. But, i dont want to leave science and have a normal 9-5 job – there are a lot of downsides to science as a job, but the benefits are really good and one of those is that science (especially in university) is very flexible and as long as you get the work done it doesnt really matter what you do. So if you need to leave early to get your kids from school or if you need to get in late it’s fine as you make up the time elsewhere. It’s great!

Working in science is what makes my job so interesting – things are constantly changing so no two days are the same! It would definitely be a lot more boring not to work
