      That’s an interesting question Angie!
We’ve had a long friendship with dogs, we started selectively breeding wolves centuries ago, which eventually led to their domestication (the process of taming an animal) and to the different breeds of dog depending on what qualities were selected to be bred. Initially dogs will have been used for hunting, so they will have helped us to get food. Since then I suppose our relationship with dogs has changed and lots of people now keep them as pets. Maybe it’s because of their loyalty and the affection they show to us?
