• Question: why do people like unhealthy things more than vegetables? Is it some sort of psychological thing, or do vegetables genuinely not taste as nice?

A lot of it is to do with marketing and cost. Unhealthy food is almost always cheaper and easier to get so it becomes very convenient and that makes it more appealing to people. And if you always eat one type of food then you become conditioned to like that food, you train yourself to like it basically. Another thing is that we are innately conditioned (which means from birth we like it) to like sugary and fatty foods, and all unhealthy food by nature because it is unhealthy has lots of sugars and fats in, so therefore when we eat it we like it and so because we like it we eat it again and again and again.

What is interesting is that our tastes, the things we like the taste of, changes as we get older. Babies and children don’t really like bitter foods like brussells sprouts. So the older you get the more likely it is that you will change your eating behaviour as your taste buds change.,
